Anemometer also known as wind sensor is a device for measuring the speed of movement of gases and air in systems, for example, ventilation. In meteorology, it can be used to measure wind speed. Depending on the principle of operation, mechanical anemometers are distinguished, in which the movement of gas or air drives a cup wheel or impeller into rotation, thermal anemometers, where the principle of operation is based on measuring the decrease in the temperature of a heated body, usually a heated wire, from the movement of gas, ultrasonic anemometers, based on on the measurement of the speed of sound in gas, depending on its movement, so, towards the wind, the speed of sound is lower than in still air, downwind - on the contrary, higher.
The output voltage is about 5 volts, the input voltage is 12 or 24 volts. The anemometer can operate at high and ultra-low temperatures. The anemometer starts to work at low wind speed, start at 0.6 meters per second. The wind sensor has a reasonably high accuracy of 97 percent.pin | assignment | color |
