LCD 2004 module for Arduino is used to convert signals from controllers and sensors into graphical information.

To use the LCD 2004 module for Arduino, you need to build a breadboard based on it (connect to the controller, power supply, etc.). Then you need to create a program to work with the display. At the end, set up and start working.

Working with the Cyrillic alphabet has a number of peculiarities due to the fact that the source code in the Arduino environment is saved in UTF-8 encoding, which does not correspond to the character table in the LCD. For the Cyrillic alphabet, you can specify their codes in the octal system, in accordance with the syntax of C / C ++. You can also use the Liquid Crystal Rus library, which allows you to directly use Russian characters in UTF-8 encoding when displayed.

There is a POWER LED on the LCD 2004 board of the Arduino module, it lights up when the module is powered. There is also an LED jumper on the board that turns the display on and off. There is a potentiometer on the board of the LCD 2004 module, with its help you can change the contrast of the display.

The LCD 2004 module is controlled by Arduino controllers or other microprocessor control devices using special programs.

It is also possible to control the display via the HD44780 interface and without an IIC module.

Arduino LCD display

LCD 2004 module for Arduino has three interfaces for connecting the display:

  • 4-bit interface HD44780, which has 16 pins:
    • Vss - common GND;
    • Vdd - food;
    • VO - contrast adjustment;
    • RS - data and commands;
    • RW - read and write;
    • E (Enable) - enable;
    • DB0 - DB7 data lines;
    • LEDA - backlight anode;
    • LEDK - backlight cathode.
  • ICC port (Inter-Integrated Circuit) - serial data bus for communication of integrated circuits. Has 4 pins:
    • SCL (Serial CLock),
    • SDA (Serial DAta),
    • GND,
    • VCC.
  • IIC, I2C, TWI SPI, analog outputs A0, A1, A2.

The LCD 2004 module for Arduino is powered either from an Arduino controller (another microprocessor control device) or from an external power source (power supply, battery). Module supply voltage 5 V.

Отримав модуль, тільки без штирьків, хоча на фото вони вже припаяні до модуля. І в опису товару нічого про них не вказано. Слід це виправити.
