Pixhawk 5X Holybro
The Pixhawk® 5X is the latest update to the successful Pixhawk® family of flight controllers, based on the open standard Pixhawk® FMUv5X and the Pixhawk® Autopilot Bus standard. It comes pre-installed with the latest version of PX4 Autopilot®, triple redundant, temperature controlled, isolated sensor domain, providing incredible performance and reliability. But recently, Holybro® is about to release a new version of pixhawk 6. You can find more details about this product in this latest pixhawk article.
Inside the Pixhawk® 5X, you can find an STM32F7 based on STMicroelectronics® combined with Bosch® sensor technology, InvenSense®, giving you the flexibility and reliability to drive any autonomous vehicle suitable for both academic and commercial applications. The F7 Pixhawk® 5X microcontroller has 2 MB of flash memory and 512 KB of RAM. The PX4 autopilot takes advantage of the increased power and RAM. With the upgraded processing power, developers can be more productive and efficient in their development work, enabling them to create complex algorithms and models.
The open FMUv5X standard includes high-performance, low-noise IMUs designed for better stabilization. Triple redundant IMU and dual redundant barometer on separate tires. When the PX4 autopilot detects a sensor failure, the system seamlessly switches to another to maintain flight control reliability.
An independent LDO powers each sensor set with independent power management. New vibration isolation design to filter out high frequency vibration and noise reduction to ensure accurate readings, enabling vehicles to achieve better overall flight performance. The external sensor bus (SPI5) has two chip select lines and data ready signals for additional sensors and payloads with SPI interface, and with the built-in Microchip Ethernet PHY (LAN8742AI-CZ-TR), high-speed communication with mission computers via Ethernet is now supported. Two smart battery monitoring ports (SMBus), support for INA226 SMBus power module.
The Pixhawk® 5X is ideal for developers in corporate research labs, startups, academia (researchers, teachers, students) and commercial applications.
