MAX3232 RS232 - TTL for Arduino is a mini converter RS232 signals into signals TTL, assembled on a chip MAX3232.

Almost all devices have on-board serial port - UART He works on a standard serial protocol, which means it can be easily connected to a computer on the COM-port. But there is one problem - a computer for RS232 logic levels takes +/- 12 volts, and the UART works at the level 3.3-5V. How to combine them? To do this, there are level converters, and the most popular ones - is adaprery collected on the chip MAX232. Mini Converter Adapter MAX3232CSE RS232 TTL belongs to this family, gives the output 3.3 V and is used for low-voltage controllers.

The scheme of the device is simple - input, output, power supply and piping of the five capacitors. Device without housing and conductors consists of printed circuit board with chip and terminals. Connect the converter to the devices manually.

MAX3232CSE RS232 - TTL converter mini adapter for Arduino has two rows of terminals for connection to the RS232 interface for connection of programmable devices:

  • To connect the device to the RS232 interface is used 4 terminals:

    • RX - receive data;
    • TX - data transfer;
    • «-» - common contact;
    • «+» - the power converter.
  • To connect programmable devices used 4 terminals:
    • «+» - powered devices operating with signal levels TTL (3,3 - 5B);
    • RX - receive data;
    • TX - data transfer;
    • «-» - common contact.

In order to use MAX3232CSE RS232 - TTL converter mini adapter for Arduino must be:

  1. connect it by soldering to the device outputs RS232 (RX, TX, «+», «-»).
  2. On the reverse side connected by soldering device (chip, a microcontroller, etc.) from the TTL level input signal (RX, TX, «+», «-»).
  3. Write to special computer program to work with the converter and connected to the device.

Power converter can be carried out on the device with the outputs RS232 or an external power supply (power supply, battery). Supply voltage converter 3 - 5 V.
