MQ-2 smoke detector (gas) is based on a gas analyzer MQ-2. It enables to detect the presence of ambient gaseous hydrocarbons (propane, methane, n-butane), smoke (i.e., suspended particles resulting combustion), as well as hydrogen.
MQ-2 sensor can be used to detect leaks of industrial gases and smoke. The output result is an analog signal. It is proportional to the gas content, which is susceptible to a gas analyzer. The sensitivity is adjusted via trimmer on the sensor board.
In a gas analyzer built-in heating element necessary for the chemical reaction. In this regard, during operation of the sensor will be hot. To obtain a stable reading new sensor must once warm (keep on) for 24 hours. After this stabilization after switching will take about a minute.
Reading MQ-2 datchika are affected by temperature and humidity. Therefore, in the case of using the gas sensor in a changing environment to obtain accurate readings need to realize compensation of these parameters.
Sensor MQ-2 is connected to the control electronics through 3 wires. Flat cable for connection is included in the kit.
